H20 Buddies was a concept solution that aimed to combat chronic dehydration in the United States. The solution proposed a mobile app that encouraged users to make small but consistent changes in their daily routines by incorporating hydration habits throughout their days or weeks.

Chronic dehydration can be caused by a variety of factors. Each demographic has its own set of reasons for dehydration and requirements. For this solution, it was critical to focus on the demographic with the most prevalent concerns and the greatest impact on the problem.

  • May report a higher frequency of chronic health concerns

  • Tends to report higher levels of stress

  • Prioritizes health less than other factors in their lives

  • Between the ages of 20 - 45

  • Is either a student or employed

  • Is studying or working for 8+ hours a day

  • Is from a low to medium income household

 
 

To ensure customer success, the mobile app must encourage small but consistent changes to a customer's daily routine by:

  • Showing customers an expanded view of their hydration progression throughout weeks and months

  • Encourage customers to continue their journey with engaging notifications

  • Helping customers keep engaged with the product through insightful content

  • Encouraging customers to record their water intake with an easy-to-use interface

  • Showing customers their water intake progress throughout their day

  • Celebrating hydration milestones with customers anytime they’ve reached a new goal

To onboard new customers, the solution must introduce an environment where the customer feels supported and encouraged to positively change their habits. This includes

  • Screens that enrich the onboarding experience with positive and inclusive messages

  • A questionnaire that does not feel intrusive

engagement strategy

Customers should be sent engagement content on a regular basis as they continue their journey with the solution. Customers should be encouraged to continue having a positive experience and to engage with the brand in a meaningful way through engagement content. Included in the solution were content such as:

  • Congratulatory email upon onboarding to learn more about additional offerings and to experience and moment of delight

  • Content that includes hydration articles, success stories, new feature announcements, and hydration reports

Because most users spend at least 1-2 hours per day on social media, optimizing user conversions through these channels is equally important. The messaging for each post should emphasize hydration and wellness as core values.

Social media posts in these channels should highlight visuals that show

  • How the solution can integrate with users anywhere and at any time

  • How the solution focuses on providing hydration to the user

  • How the brand prioritizes user wellness
